Bring on the pies.

So you might have thought fruit pies does amazingly well for your arteries. Not so much. The chilled pastry cream has loads of eggs and egg yolks, but what can we say when its so delicious? Par baked pâte sucrée (sweet pastry), pastry cream and topped with any fruits.

Apple pie to warm the heart for a cold night. Made with mealy dough and filled with cooked juice pie filling and layered with pastry lattice. Won’t it be nice with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream?

And you thought it stopped there? We did too. Had too much pastry left we made quiche Lorraine. Bacon, onions, cheese, heavy cream and more eggs. Absolutely scrumptious.

A little warmth to the soul.
