Smitten with desserts

February 12, 2010 § Leave a comment

Last night, my class finally completed our 6 weeks of foundations of baking with presenting everything we learnt.
The sweet table was open to all family and friends to satisfy their sweet cravings. The mirrors were filled with absolutely nothing but sugar. Opera cake, Madeleines, Petit Fours Glaze, Macaroons, Linzer cookies, Fruit tarts, Ice-box cookies and assorted Páte á Choux (swans, cream puffs or éclairs). All were swamped out in an hour.

I have to say, watching everyone eat and comment makes me feel that all the painstaking work and stressed are all worth it. What would we do without desserts on this earth? I know, one thing for sure, my life would be really empty and I think the rest of the crew will agree.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone who reads this! To my family back home, Happy Chinese New Year too (:
