happiness in a cup

There are some things you cannot buy
no matter how much you pay.
For example, the moon.
– Haruki Murakami
I met Ly at the cafe with her dear friend, E. They were so funny and dynamic, it was hard to pass them off as just customers. With time, we found comforts with one another. She drew, I wrote. We laugh, we shared, we cried at coffee tables or at bars. We love the moon, especially the full moon. Our emotions sync like the bright circle shining over the earth, allowing us to bask under the same moonlight no matter which part of the world we are at.
It was only natural when I introduced generra coffee to her, it was love at first sip. It was our comfort drink when we had a tough day or week. The broken hearts and frowns become smiles and laughters, leaving us joyful as we skip towards the train station.
When Ly decided to draw this piece, I added the words to the conversation. She kindly included them into her drawing and submitted this piece to They Draw & Cook. Perhaps an illustration cookbook for us in the future?
